Cubi french toast square

Strawberry Chevre Stuffed French Toast

Prep Time: 10 minutes Cook Time: 30 minutes

There's no sweeter way to start the day than to serve this super-luxe French toast to someone you love. Stuffed with a soft strawberry goat cheese, then topped with fresh berries and/or maple syrup - it just doesn't get better than this.

  1. Whisk the Wet

Whisk together eggs, milk, cinnamon and sugar.

Tip: This recipe can be left partially prepared and refrigerated overnight at this stage. All that's left to do is dip and griddle.
  2. Place pan and pre-heat

Place pan over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Heat until oil thins and easily coats bottom of pan.

  3. Dip, Dunk, Dive, Dip, Dodge... or something

Dip one side of each of the 6 slices of bread into the egg mixture and brown in the pan. Remove the bread and take pan off of the heat once the dipped side has browned.

Tip: The outside of the sandwich in the next step will be the uncooked sides of the bread.
  4. Make the Sandwich

Lay out three slices of the bread browned side up. Spread the chevre onto the three slices and make a sandwich by placing the remaining slices of bread on top, browned side down.

Tip: If you want something different, try cream cheese or fresh goat cheese. Fontina adds a ripe nutty flavor and Brie is a bit more mellow.
  5. Brown Both Sides

Place the pan back on the stove, add the remaining oil, and heat it back up. Then, dip both sides of your French toast sandwich into the egg mixture and place in pan, flip to brown both sides.

  6. Enjoy a slice of heaven ... or three!

Enjoy with Thornburg and Company’s Barrel Aged maple syrup.
